2006 - On Friday 23 June 2006, the Hon. Prime
Minister Dr. Lawrence Gonzi inaugurated the annual
exhibition of the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for
Art and Crafts at the Exhibitions Hall of the Ministry
for Gozo. This is one of the best show-cases, showing
the achievements of many students throughout the year.
The Minister for Gozo, the Hon. Giovanna Debono
then outlined the contribution of her ministry towards
the various projects currently underway at the Centre,
namely the new courses and the purchase of new equipment
funded by EU The extension of the Wistin Camilleri
Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts and the building
of the Crafts Development Centre from EU and national
funds. Hon Minister highlighted the year’s
achievements, among which the Centre’s participation
at the Spain International Crafts Exhibition. The
decoration of the hall hosting the November conference
held in Gozo as part of the CHOGM and an exhibition
during the same conference. She also mentioned that
through Mr Attard seat on the Malta Crafts Council,
he participated at the General Assembly of the World
Crafts Council held in Finland, where the Gozo Centre
was listed as an Art and Craft school by the same
Council.
In his message, the Prime Minister mentioned the
projects being financed by the EU and national funds,
among them The extension of the centre and the new
Crafts Development centre at the Gozo Centre for
Art and Crafts. He said that he was very impressed
by what he saw at his first visit at this exhibition.
The Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts would like to
thank many people for their contribution, but mainly
amongst them the Hon. Prime Minister for honouring
us with his presence; the Minister for Gozo for
her support and for her efforts in bringing over
